WHY NOW | EPILEPSY THE FILM

This film was rejected by local grants for over four years deeming Epilepsy not an urgent topic. We're here to change that and accurately represent Epilepsy.

There is a common misconception that Epilepsy is not life-threatening, the urgency lies in the fact that every waking day without a cure means more lives lost.

1 in 100 people globally will develop Epilepsy, however, this stat only considers those with active seizures, meaning the actual population is substantially higher.

1 in 26 people in the United States alone will develop Epilepsy in their lifetime.

65 million people worldwide are
diagnosed with Epilepsy.

Sudden death rates among people
with Epilepsy are 20x higher than
the general population.

38 people are diagnosed daily in Canada.

There are no feature length documentaries on Epilepsy that have been made at this scale. As a filmmaker with this condition, I want this to change. Not only will we cover various forms of Epilepsy but we will explore the often overlooked reality of SUDEP.

We have partnered up with foundations, medical professionals, and researchers to eradicate stigmas and educate the world. Our documentary is not just about providing support to the Epilepsy community; we hope to be a catalyst for change, ensuring Epilepsy becomes integral to the global healthcare conversation.
